<lj:music>Those Barking Xmas Dogs</lj:music>

Production is rolling on at a steady pace, so the blog will go back to being updated weekly- so check in next Tuesday!

Episode 409: Master of Temps

Under his enigmatic boss, Steve, Jack learns the internal workings of Odd Jobs. To his surprise, not everybody is slapped with the hodge-podge of dead end jobs he's been forced into. Those are just the D List positions.
Feeling he's finally graduated into a solid C List job, Jack manages to fritter away even more time than the average office worker.
Strangely enough, his brilliant method of "dumping a pile of potential job folders in front of the job-hunting temps" boosts productivity so much that Jack becomes a company favorite- much to the irritation of his hard working colleagues.
Meanwhile, Bobby finds himself on the other side of Jack's life, as he quits his job at the company store and starts the soul destroying journey of looking for work in a depressing world that doesn't want to hire anybody, no matter how bloody qualified they are.

Every time you register I get to go a day without flogging.
But seriously- Sundays at 9:30pm on the Comedy Network: watch it, love it, and dwell forever on the two episodes you've already missed if you haven't had your eyes glued to the screen this past fortnight.
Now onward!
Because who doesn't get all warm and tingly at the mention of time paradoxes?

Episode 408: Twelve Chickens

Jack takes a job at Edna Daze's chicken farm- a task that would make PETA members swoon. But though Jack is a bit queasy at the prospect of beak-clipping, he does his job diligently- until his familiar ineptitude kicks in, and faced with the job of killing all the chickens to prevent Bird Flu, Jack manages to leave one chick alive.

From simple job to surreal adventure, Jack is soon met with himself: from the future!

Devon tells Jack that the only way to lessen the beatings is to act with refinement, and hope the kids follow suit.
Meanwhile, Bobby revisits his past as well; his high school crush, Haley, approaches him to DJ the upcoming prom.

News has been slow lately, mainly due to your favourite blogger being out of a job until next season ramps up; but news has been trickling down to me, and all of it’s good.
Season four of Odd Job Jack is now in design. Dave’s cranking out the new characters, and fresh scripts are rolling in.

I’ll pass on any new info as I get it (like the moment we find out Jack’s jobs!) so stay tuned.

If you want a Jack fix until then, remember FreeJack is still up and running. Since all of Season 3’s episodes have been aired, the complete set of Jack resources for animation are available for download: http://www.oddjobjack.com/forum/showthread.php?t=465
Have a go, make Jack do what you’ve always wanted to see. ;)
(Macromedia Flash needed for zany adventures.)

When his ransom video is broadcast across the globe Babs, Bobby and Leo (who, now cured of his fear of the outside world has become a rippling mass of muscle and aggression) rush to his rescue.
As Vanessa volunteers to be kidnapped herself, sympathizing with the proletariat struggle of the poor indigenous people of the area, Jack and her barely get a moment of reconciliation before Betty arrives with the Odd Job Jet to free them! Witnessing Betty's new compassion Jack is confronted with his feelings for her, and decides his marriage was a mistake.
Understanding to a fault, his now estranged wife bids them good luck, steals the jet, and takes off to rescue the world from it's troubles.
But love doesn't fly people back to Canada, leaving Jack and his family to trek across the Sahara desert.
Back in Canada, Jack cheerfully goes to Odd Jobs to see Betty and start temp work again.
Episode 310: Perfume

Once assigned to his post as a tester for deodorant functionality (sniffing the most Stygian of armpits), Jack immediately shows promise. Wowing those in his department, Jack is moved to the perfume industry, where he concocts fragrances that send the public into a frenzy for a whiff of the new Jack scent.
This sends Jack's boss, Anton Beaujolais, once the most celebrated nose in the industry, into a jealous rage of competition against Jack.
However, Jack's new ability to sniff out success comes at a price; his supreme olfactory powers are overwhelmed by Bobby's stench. Jack attempts to help cure Bobby, but is sidetracked by his obsession with Betty.
Finding success, fame and riches ultimately unfufilling, Jack plunges int a downward spiral of artistic depression.

Without having generations of oppression and rage to call upon as his inspiration, Jack seems doomed never to possess awesome booty-shakin' abilities.
Meanwhile, in response to Jack's sudden emergence into the dance scene, Bobby and Leo resurrect their own alarming style of dancing: 'Stooging' (complete with slapstick humour).
Mayhem ensues on the night of the dance competition when rival dance groups, a robot army, the ancient chinese art of clowning, our hero Jack filled with rage , and a badger all come together in an explosion of choreographed hilarity.

Jim McDonald's stylists take every stereotypical old-man faux pas and run with them.
Taking Jim's image into his own hands, Jack glosses over him with the paintbrush of hipness (and street style... and drugs). Unfortunately, exposure to the care-free pseudo-teenage life (... and drugs) causes Jim to skip several publicity appearances, leaving Jack in his stead.
Tired of being flamed by the audience, Jack begs Spoons to revive Jim's political side; she agrees, but to Jack's surprise, arouses more than Jim's ambition to be mayor.
Jack flies off at the handle, and launches his own counter campaign (with the dubious platform of not sleeping with people's sisters) and runs against Jim.

Jack immediately fails at playing dead as he breaks into long rants about Betty's new boyfriend, Chris (who, coincidentally enough, is the counter-terrorist that hired Jack in the first place).
So instead of doing his job properly, Jack enlists Leo's aid to dig up dirt on Chris. But before Jack can underhandedly nix Betty's new squeeze, Jack's picked up by Agent Brody, who mistakes Jack for a fellow agent. He explains to Jack that mad cow disease has mutated into "smart cow", and it'll be the end of the world as we know it. Stuck in Brody's psychotic mission, Jack is dramatically dragged to...
